Firestone Complete Auto Care at The Presidio (Fort Worth, TX)
The project involved new construction from the ground-up for a new Firestone Complete Auto Care. The completed facility consists of a 7,806 SF one-story masonry building with a steel joist roof system. The building includes a showroom area (1,200 SF), office, restrooms, auto service area with eight bays (4,100 SF), inventory area (1,700 SF), a used inventory area, and an exterior dumpster enclosure. The project is located in The Presidio, a new retail development in northwest Fort Worth. The client required an on on-site camera to provide 24/7 live feed of the project to provide real-time visual updates of the project’s progress. The 17-week project began in mid-August and was completed in December 2016.
Our scope of work included concrete (slab, sidewalks, alignment pit, and apron), CMU masonry walls and brick, structural steel, miscellaneous steel, rough carpentry, finish carpentry, fixture installation, millwork, waterproofing & caulking, roofing, insulation, shop bay overhead rollup doors & grilles, doors frames & hardware, toilet accessories, windows/glass/glazing, drywall/framing, EIFS/stucco/plaster, resilient flooring/base, sealed concrete flooring, painting, awnings, lift installation, compressed air line piping, dumpster enclosure, security fence for inventory, site camera, folding ladder, lockers, fire sprinklers, plumbing, oil interceptor, HVAC system including (3) RTUs, air balance, CO2 detectors, electrical, light fixtures, fire alarm, and burglar alarm.
At the client’s request, the project schedule was shortened by two weeks in order to complete the store by the end of the year.
Thanks to the work of our subcontractor partners and effective on-site supervision by our superintendent, we were able to meet the compressed schedule and turnover the building to operations on time, allowing Firestone to stock merchandise and open for business on the day requested.
