TCC Scholarship Opportunity

Scholarship opportunity for college students

In 2014 our firm, in a coordinated effort to support the work and mission of Tarrant County College (TCC) and the TCC Foundation, established the Westwood Contractors, Inc. Scholarship. Since then, a diverse group of students – men and women, some looking to begin or even advance their careers in construction, and others looking for a challenging and rewarding career change – have all benefitted greatly as recipients.  The scholarship is now fully endowed and will perpetually validate and encourage outstanding students enrolled in TCC’s Construction Management Program. TCC offers an affordable program that is fully accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).  TCC has posted the results from its 2016 Graduate Survey which shows that those who completed the program have entered the workforce with an average annual salary of nearly $53,800.   And what’s more, a shortage in skilled personnel in the construction industry has created a highly competitive job market which has seen increases in wages and salaries over the last several years.   So, a two-year degree can certainly be a worthwhile investment in your future.  We are proud of our association with TCC and its ability to excite, encourage, and educate our future industry leaders!

If you are currently enrolled at Tarrant County College and are pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Management, we hope you’ll consider applying for The Westwood Contractors, Inc. Scholarship.  It is a merit-based scholarship available for students based on their academic success, not their financial need. Scholarship recipients are determined by the TCC Foundation after careful consideration of all applicants. Those who are awarded the scholarship receive in-county tuition for up to 15 credit hours.
