Each year the National Retail Federation (NRF) releases survey results about how consumers are planning to celebrate the 4th. How do your plans compare?
- 86% of consumers plan to celebrate Independence Day this year.
- On average, planned spending on food items on for the 4th of July is $92.44 per person.
- 29% of those celebrating plan to purchase additional patriotic items.
- 61% plan to attend a cookout, picnic, or BBQ with friends and family.
- 41% plan to attend a public/community fireworks celebration.
- 12% plan to attend a parade.
- 13% will take the opportunity to travel or vacation over the long weekend.

Bonus fun fact: The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council predicts that Americans will consume 150 million hot dogs on the 4th of July!
